Episode 9- How To Hit $10k months part 1.
YAY! We are getting to some more advanced stuff. So don’t get me wrong, I actually love the beginner stuff because it’s so powerful.
Often people come looking for a fancy funnel or a new shiny marketing platform or tactic but nearly always it’s something in the basics that needs fixing to make the difference.
However this episode is all about once you have your business set up – how to then hit the $10k months. Let’s get started…
Episode 3 – The Online Business Growth Ladder – Your Journey
If you’ve discovered the online world recently and seen some pretty amazing success stories you may well be wondering how the hell these people did this. Am I right?
And if you’ve started already you probably wish you knew what the path ahead looks like and what kind of results you can expect when.
Knowing what to expect and really importantly where you are at in the journey can give you a sense of security and understanding of the landscape around you.
After all it’s not like entrepreneurship comes with a performance review every year and then the corresponding salary increase!
It can all feel like a bit of a mystery.
So let’s unpack this.
“I need to be more visible! I need to be on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, Pinterest, YouTube, Tumblr, Instagram, what? You aren’t on Snapchat yet? Fail! Absolute fail!”
…says the voice inside our heads.
Sound familiar? At the beginning of my business I certainly had moments of panic about all the social media options and what to do about online visibility.
That is until I realised what is actually important.
So let’s dive in to what is important to see just how visible we need to be.
Woah. That was a lot of numbers. I haven’t talked about my own business numbers in the past and there are two main reasons for this.
One, I want my CLIENT results to do the talking as to why people should work with me, not what I’m earning.
And two, honestly, I feel a bit weird talking about money like that. It’s probably cultural conditioning, and potentially something I need to get over.
I realise though that people are super curious to see what the business growth path can look like, and what really goes on behind the scenes.
By sharing honestly how it looked for me and what I learned from it, while it is a little revealing, I am hoping that you can learn these lessons without actually having to go through them yourself while growing your business.
So here are my 7 big lessons learned from going from 0 to $20k months in 18 months.

As a business owner or future business owner you know you need to sell stuff. It’s in our nature, particularly in the beginning to recoil in horror at just the idea of selling.
Let alone actually doing it.
On the one hand we know we can’t help anyone by sitting at home waiting for our ideal client to suddenly arrive, thrilled, with cash in hand, but still selling feels icky. In this article I’m going to explain why you feel torn about sales and then share a very practical, fun and easy exercise I’ve developed to completely shift your mindset and get you in tip top shape for your discovery, strategy or sales calls.
I love this one personally and I hope you will too.
Before I share the story and give you my tips on networking for introverts, or as I like to think of it – networking the authentic way – a quick disclaimer. I’m not an expert of introversion or networking, I can only speak about my own experience and what I do to build my network, make new business friends and grow my business.
The Urban Dictionary defines introvert as:
“A person who is energized by spending time alone… Contrary to popular belief, not all introverts are shy. Some may have great social lives and love talking to their friends but just need some time to be alone to “recharge” afterwards.”
My need to recharge has led to various moments in my life that my more extrovert friends find hard to understand – recently I left a friend’s hens night BEFORE the stripper arrived. No one could believe it.
I would love to share a picture of what I missed at this point but I don’t want to get my friend in trouble!
So what’s this about adventures in New York City?
I see a similar question pop up a lot in some of the entrepreneurial groups I’m in, when people ask, “Can I be successful online if I don’t serve other business owners?”
While it’s true that in some of these groups, it seems like the business-to-business entrepreneurs have a much easier time because they’re all selling to one another, I don’t think that’s the truth in the real world. So my answer is YES! You absolutely can be successful with a business-to-consumer business online. And here’s why.
